AAPI-MSRF Legislative Day

AAPI will be holding a national Legislative Day in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007.  AAPI-MSRF will be participating, and in addition to discussing enhanced US-India cooperation, our section will be advocating for physician access to care, debt issues, and J-1 visa waiver expansion.  The Legislative Day has traditionally been an excellent opportunity for those of us interested in policy and activism to begin to learn how to lobby our legislators and to network with other students and young physicians on the issues that matter to us and our healthcare system.  This event will be the first part of AAPI-MSRF's efforts this year to ramp up our efforts in legislative advocacy and general involvement in the policy and politics that affect us as Indian-American physicians and students.  We hope to formulate a policy agenda and action plan, but in order to do so, we need your involvement at this event and throughout the rest of the year!  If you are interested in participating at Legislative Day, login to the members section and RSVP for the event.  Also, please contact Kunal Mitra, our legislative chair, with your interest in becoming a part of the legislative advocacy committee, at legislative@aapimsr.org.  We look forward to seeing you there!
